SHC takes notice of 'unusual punishments'
SHC further stated that such punishments are against laws.
KARACHI (Dunya News)- Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice (CJ) on Saturday has taken notice of ‘weird punishments’ and has summoned report from concerned district and session judges.
As per details, SHC termed these punishments violations of basic human rights while stating that such verdicts are earning bad name for courts.
SHC further stated that such punishments are against laws.
Earlier, a court in Karachi’s District Court had directed accused to offer prayers for three years while another Karachi’s court instructed citizen to stand at chowk on every Friday to spread awareness regarding traffic rules with play card in hands.
Similarly, Karachi’s District West court ordered accused to lay carpets in mosque for three years.
